2020, holy shit

I found myself at my computer last Sunday morning, clicking the refresh button on bikereg.com. I was hoping they would open registration early, but as with everything their team does...Rick and the gang were promptly open at high noon. Let the clicking begin.

Fortunetly for me I was prepared and was registered by 12:03pm. The event sold out crazy fast....while I am not sure the actual number....I heard 8 minutes....or about 20 minutes. Last year was less than an hour...so they made an Icemanesqe jump to selling out. Congrats to the LJ100 Team, and see you in June!

Now, realistically I am simply trying to finish. That is all. My finishing time in 2015 was just over 12 hours. I would love to beat that time, and I will do my best! Finishing is the main goal!

In order to be successful up in Manistee I know I need to ride ride ride. My goal is to have more miles in January than I had in all of 2019. If you remember, I did nearly die....so that was actually a valid excuse...for a little bit. Anyway, no excuses now. Nutrition, riding, running, and general activity are going to get me to the finish line at LJ100. I have a few events leading up to it of course...like Barry Roubaix.

I signed up for the 62 miler simply for the training aspect. Then I will head to Hanson Hills for a 50 miler on trails. I also have Lowell, HellKaat and a few others sprinkled in there. Endurance is going to be key for me. Lots and lots and lots of base miles. I need to ride a ton and drop a lot of weight to be able to accomplish the goals I set this year.

That being said, in 3 weeks I will be at Vitrue Cider for the Frigid Fondo. My first event of 2020. It might be ugly out there, but with a solid month of riding in my legs I should be able to roll a decent average. Hopefully the roads are firm, because last year they were soupy! Come on out and enjoy a casual cruise with me. I will be riding as much as I can while still being a dad and employee. But, look for me out there.....give me a high five and tell me to keep going. And if you see me with a donut....you know what to do....
